Brenda helps healthcare organizations drive substantial net revenue enhancement and cash acceleration through her expertise in revenue cycle transformation. She implements operational process improvements in both large multifacility health systems and community hospitals. She has expertise in large-scale process redesign, health information system design and optimization, and revenue cycle department standardization and centralization to achieve financial and operational improvement results.

Throughout her career, Brenda has:

  • Overseen a performance improvement, centralization, and standardization engagement for a $4 billion net patient revenue (NPR) healthcare system with more than 18 facilities in three states. Key initiatives included establishing a centralized patient access organization structure, resulting in double-digit improvements in key performance indicators and leading revenue cycle cost-reduction efforts totaling $40 million through process redesign, technology optimization, and vendor review.
  • Led a patient access and ambulatory clinical documentation engagement for a $1.8 billion NPR health system with four hospitals, implementing patient access write-off improvements and advanced patient liability metrics, as well as project managing a clinical documentation initiative.
  • Directed a patient access optimization project for a $3.5 billion NPR, 17-facility, faith-based health system. Key initiatives included implementing a standardized financial clearance policy and executing additional consumer financial transparency initiatives, leading to significant improvements in patient collections, bad debt, and avoidable write-offs.
  • Managed a team to drive improvement within a large ambulatory group in New York as part of a nationwide integrated health system, helping prepare the organization for a significant health information system conversion.

Before joining Huron in 2013, Brenda was a project manager and process engineer for Samaritan Health Services. She was responsible for critical Epic go-live implementation initiatives and performance improvement work in various hospital departments.
