About Bob
Bob helps nonprofit organizations grow their fundraising and philanthropic capabilities so they can increase organizational capacity to achieve their mission.
Throughout his career, Bob has:
- Overseen a comprehensive medical center, state-of-the-art shelter, and food bank for an animal welfare organization, implementing programs in humane education, behavior, and training. The organization achieved and increased its fundraising goals, engaged and enhanced key major donor relationships, and increased planned giving.
- Directed all aspects of fundraising, marketing, and communications for a conservation organization in Africa. He directed its first comprehensive awareness and brand-building initiative and supervised all public relations materials, including overseeing its quarterly news publication.
- Headed all fundraising and membership staff at multiple East Coast nonprofit organizations, where he led all federal relations work, including fundraising, marketing, and communications projects for multiple global clients.
Prior to joining Huron, Bob served as senior vice president at GG+A, which was acquired by Huron in 2024. He also held the role of president and chief executive officer of the Washington Animal Rescue League. He held several leadership roles, including vice president and chief development officer, at the National Aquarium in Baltimore and Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Bob served as vice president of development and marketing for the African Wildlife Foundation.
He has presented at numerous nonprofit fundraising conferences, including the Booz Allen Hamilton Nonprofit Speaker Series, the Annual Bridge to Integrated Marketing and Fundraising Conference, the Association of Fund Raising Professionals International and Canadian Annual Conferences, and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums Annual and Regional Conferences. He has also presented at workshops in China on fundraising, marketing, sponsorship, and management to wildlife administration and zoological leadership.
Bob earned his Master of Arts in social foundations of education from the University of Maryland, College Park. He also earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in public administration and management and a bachelor’s degree in government, both from Cornell University.
Bob serves as advancement chair and executive committee member for Our Lady of Good Counsel High School. He is currently heading up the Cornell Botanic Garden’s capital campaign as a member of its advisory council.
