Hassan provides healthcare informatics and leadership expertise to both public and private sector clients to enhance clinical operations, optimize electronic record systems (EHR) implementation, and innovate health data strategies, enabling them to improve clinical outcomes, optimize access to care, and enhance operational efficiency. His expertise spans organizational development, change management, clinical laboratory operations, and disease surveillance, all aimed at improving health outcomes for U.S. heroes and the country they served.
Across his career, Hassan has:
- Led the configuration and deployment of the EHR system for a U.S. government department, significantly improving healthcare delivery to over 18 million soldiers and veterans.
- Spearheaded the establishment of COVID-19 testing laboratories for Fortune Top 5 companies, contributing to national health initiatives.
- Directed interoperability initiatives for a national public health agency to streamline clinical laboratory workflows.
- Led the clinical trial testing and validation for an HIV testing device that increases early detection and connects more people to care, reducing the spread of the virus.
- Headed the development of a global drug marketing strategy for a top 10 pharmaceutical company, increasing sales by 38%.
Prior to joining Huron, Hassan served as a partner at Guidehouse. He honorably retired from the United States Army with a distinguished career, including top leadership roles, where he was recognized for his strategic contributions to healthcare innovation across the Department of Defense and the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Hassan earned a doctorate from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from University of Maryland University College.
Hassan is a member of Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). He volunteers with various local charities supporting youth development. Hassan was awarded the 2024 IT 100 Lifetime Achievement Award from FORUM.
