About Jonathan

Jonathan provides functional expertise to colleges, universities, university systems, and private sector third parties serving higher education to construct and implement near- and intermediate-term operational and business plans. This includes developing clarifying views of institutional economics with realistic understanding of revenue and cost management opportunities, and with consideration for strategic investment needs.

Throughout his career, Jonathan has:

  • Led road map development for multiyear operational and technological modernization initiatives at multiple tier-one research (R1) institutions.
  • Guided assessments of institutions’ current and desired use of data to develop strategic road maps for institutionwide data management and analytics capabilities.
  • Created a multiyear business plan and strategic plan for one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit providers of online education for continuing education and adult learners.
  • Facilitated a detailed assessment of the academic portfolio for multiple institutions, including a comparative analysis of program contribution margins, enrollment trends, and strategic and missional alignment.
  • Led multiple strategy assessments related to value chain opportunities, product market fit, and learner outcomes for a private online education provider.
  • Conducted business case development, facilitated design, and guided implementation efforts for multiple operating model, shared services, and centralization efforts for finance, human resources, and research administration.

Prior to joining Huron, Jonathan served as an associate at Towers Perrin (now Willis Towers Watson) in its human capital practice, focused on organizational design and compensation strategies.

Jonathan earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics and communications, a Master of Business Administration, and a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Michigan.
