About Mark
Mark provides strategic fundraising and advancement expertise to independent school clients to strengthen their philanthropic programs, enabling them to fulfill their mission of delivering transformative educational experiences to students. With more than 30 years of experience working with independent schools — 18 of those focused on fundraising — Mark has developed and overseen annual, major, capital, and planned giving programs that drive donor engagement and institutional growth.
Throughout his career, Mark has:
- Overseen the complete redesign and rebranding of two annual fund programs, resulting in increased donor retention and higher levels of support.
- Developed and enhanced major and planned giving programs, resulting in successful fundraising campaigns in excess of $45 million for the construction of new facilities as well as endowment growth.
- Worked with a Midwest day school to transition from an event-based annual fund program to an annual giving effort based on the development of a table of gifts to achieve the school’s goals and orchestrated through face-to-face, as well as sustained direct mail, solicitations.
Prior to joining Huron, Mark served as a vice president at GG+A, which was acquired by Huron in 2024. He also currently serves as the director of advancement at Wilbraham & Monson Academy. Mark began his fundraising career as a regional director of major gifts at Phillips Exeter Academy, followed by a return to his alma mater, Tabor Academy, as director of advancement.
Mark holds a Master of Arts in nonprofit management from Hamline University and a Bachelor of Arts from Franklin & Marshall College.
Mark is an active volunteer for the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and since 2019 has served on the faculty for CASE’s School Advancement Institute (SAI). In addition to presenting at several CASE-NAIS conferences, Mark also served on the planning committee for the 2019 CASE-NAIS Conference.
