Melanie has directed over 100 assessments for potential clients, focusing on strategy, operations, and financial performance improvement.

Throughout her career, Melanie has:

  • Directed a 14-week patient care affordability assessment for a leading health system and academic institution in Maryland to identify strategic, financial, and operational opportunities across the system within the areas of patient care and clinical operations, physician services, and human resources and labor productivity.
  • Directed a 10-week revenue cycle operational assessment for a national, for-profit provider of long-term acute care hospitals to determine improvement areas within current operations, as well as future revenue cycle consolidation opportunities.
  • Directed a nine-month strategic assessment effort for a national, faith-based health system spanning 11 states, identifying financial and operational opportunities across the various revenue cycle operations and developing a strategic plan to achieve optimal revenue cycle performance, including a national revenue cycle reorganization.
  • Managed the implementation of a revenue cycle solution at an academic medical center in Philadelphia, including operational improvements within front-end revenue cycle functions, such as insurance verification, financial counseling, case management, and registration. The engagement resulted in $37 million in annually recurring income statement improvement.
